Lesson from an Injured Guitarist

I'm glad for today that we're able to see Porn today in church. He's still 16 years old. He's one of the young people we have in the church and is active in Praise and Worship ministry. He wasn't able to fellowship with us last Sunday because he had a motorbike accident. He's wrist was broken and was operated last Thursday.

He's quite well today amidst the scars and bandages. What surprises me is his eagerness to serve God through playing the guitar. It didn't stopped him from playing the guitar during our worship. I was told that while he practiced yesterday, the newly-operated wrist was stressed and little amount of blood came out! I told him, he should relaxed first and take good care.

I asked my friend why did he insisted on playing today...she replied that maybe he's that obsessed of mastering his skill in playing guitar. She was told by him before that he wanted to play like my bro...My bro is very good in playing guitar and he wanted to be like him...Well, he will be in the near future because I can see now that he's improving. But still at the end we concluded that he really loves God and wants to serve Him on his best...God bless you Porn and we're praying for your fast recuperation .

This makes me think of those times that I delay doing things for God because of countless alibis. Here comes a young man who has all the reason not to play the guitar but he refrain in doing so. He saw that he could do it, so he go for it. He said that God will take care of him.

Dear God, I pray that I will have a heart like this young man. A heart that is overwhelmed with love for you. I will not let petty things hinder me from doing what you want me to do. I claim in Jesus' name that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Amen.
