Neno's Award, do you have it?

I wanna thank Pinay Survivor Mom for this third award I received from her.

Why do I love blogging?

Let me think....hmmmmm...I love keeping journal of my daily life, my wants and desire, and my opinion for certain things. I love expressing myself through writing. Blogging improves my writing skill. It connects me to beautiful persons with great attitude. I wouldn't have known them if not through blogging. This also my way of telling the whole wide world (my own version of www.....) ....he..he...how good my God is for giving me to a great hubby and trusting us with a precious creation-our son Hyzd.

Here are the rules for this meaningful award:

The aims of this award:

* As a dedication for those who love blogging activity and love to encourage friendships through blogging.
* To seek the reasons why we all love blogging!
* Put the award in one post as soon as you receive it
* Don’t forget to mention the person who gives you the award.
* Answer the award’s question by writing the reason why you love blogging.
* Tag and distribute the award to as many people as you like.
* Don’t forget to notify the award receivers and put their links in your post.

I am sharing this award to Shy,Phebie Ann,and Hazel.

We're captured!

I was about to shut down the lappy when I see my YM popping up. It's message is that Mommy Phebie has a comment for my recent post "The Notebook". I read it and was intrigued about the tag she shared with me which she mentioned that I'll surely love it. Indeed, she's right! Her B & W photo looks so sweet and romantic!...and I can't help doing it right NOW!...he..he...

} Start Copy

" A good Snapshot stops a moment from running away."

Photobucket

When you photograph people in color you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in B&W, you photograph their souls! ~Ted Grant

} End of Copy

I captured the moment where I had my closest friends with me on my wedding day and we're just having fun doing the wacky actions. We had laughter and tears on that day. One of my unforgettable times with them.

For the rules of this tag:

Copy the quotes above from start copy to end Copy.
Replace the Photograph with your own or your loves ones.
The photo must be in Black and White.
Photo must show captured moments that you want to cherish for
the rest of your life.

I wonder if Jes, Pehpot, Twinkie, Gagay, Hazel, Pinay Survivor Mom and Mommy Gigie could share to us their memorable "captured" photos.

The Notebook

I'm not telling you here about one of my favorite movies nor about my favorite laptop/notebook but about a very cute notebook given to me by my friend-Ate Jos. Thank you so much! She gave me this souvenir item from Phuket, Thailand.

Update on our PC condition

Last night my bro finished reformatting and updating our PC from Windows Xp to Windows Vista Extreme. Unfortunately, because of the upgrading, the ethernet controller tool is lost and we couldn't connect to internet unless we could reinstall it. That would be impossible for we didn't have the driver for that.

We visited the service center of Vitchusin to correct this problem. Hopefully, they will send their technician tomorrow at 10:00 am to install the ethernet controller tool. By the time all will be OK, I'll visit you again my friends here in blogsville.

Hair Trim is the secret of long, healthy hair!

This morning as I combed my hair, I noticed that I badly needed a hair trim. I think the last time I got my hair trimmed was last July. Maybe 1-2 inches is enough. I learned from my father before that we need to get our hair trimmed at least every two months to eliminate split ends, prevent split ends, reduce breakage and improve appearance. Who do you think will do the trimming for me early in the morning? It's no other than my lovey-dovey ! You'll be the judge if it looks fine:

Wishing for long hair like mine?...*grin*...trimming is absolutely necessary to achieve long, healthy hair.

Our PC has a problem!

Last night while my hubby is using the computer, it suddenly turned blue then restarted by itself. When we tried to open firefox mozilla ,we couldn't open it and it shut down automatically. I ask my bro on what should I do with it on YM. He told me to run up the cleaning utilities he just installed in our PC. We tried and it performs back to normal for only few minutes and the same thing happened over and over.

This morning my bro and his wife visited us. He'll try to reformat our PC because the problem it displayed is that the new software or hardware is not installed properly. Currently, I'm using his lappy . I hope this will be resolved ASAP. If today it will still stay on the same condition after the reformatting, we better bring it tomorrow to Vitchusin and ask for a new one. We have 1 year warranty for this PC.

Ever see a Plant MOVE when you tickle it?

Ever see a plant move when you tickle it? Some children and adults never had a chance to see one. For me, I did. When I was a kid, I love to visit my father's garden and entertained myself tickling the Mimosa pudica plant. I laughed every time it moves its branches and leaves when I tickled it. It's fun. Unfortunately, here in Hat Yai I haven't had a chance to see one.

In our place Mimosa pudica plant is abundant and some people even considered it as weeds. Don't they know that other parts of the world grow it on their own? For me, I love to grow one on my own and want to get my son excited about nature and gardening, especially by teaching him how to grow the plant that will move when he tickles it! He'll surely love it and will never forget this kind of adventure! I want him to grow loving gardening and nature.

The big question now is where do I get the seeds? I visited a very interesting website that answers my query. In http://www.ticklemeplant.com I saw that they're offering low cost, environmentally friendly products and educational activities especially this holiday-Easter and Earth day! Their economical kit, the Mini House costs only $5.99 and includes everything you need to grow your own TickleMe Plant. They were recently featured by the National Gardening Association's Kid's Store. They produce TickleMe Family Greenhouse Kits with six mini-flower pots which make it easy for an entire family to grow its own TickleMe Plant. I can't wait to have our own this summer.

Please visit http://www.ticklemeplant.com for information, pricing and a description of their TickleMe Plant seeds, greenhouses and growing kits. I'm sure you'll never look at plants in the same way as well as your kids!

Let's help our children develop a positive attitude toward growing plants.

FAQs on Machine Readable Passport

I haven't yet changed my old green Philippine passport to a new Machine Readable Passport (MRP) which is maroon in color because it's expiry date will be on November 2010. My hubby's will be on 2011. It's our plan to renew it once we'll visit Philippines next year by April. It is more convenient for us. Then a friend who just visited Philippines last January told us that she was told by the immigration officers that we need to change our old passport six months before this year ends. If that would be the case, my hubby and I will need to change plus the baby. On the other hand, another friend who just came back from Philippines who's residing in Bangkok informed us that our green Philippine passport will still be valid until the expiry date...We're confused...Which is correct?

My sis-in-law searched in the internet for the clarification of our doubts about the issue of renewing and FAQs on this new passport and we found an article from the Philippine Embassy, Bangkok the following:

What is a Machine Readable Passport?
A Machine Readable Passport (MRP) is a passport where the personal details of the applicant is printed in such a way that it can be read by the naked eye and at the same time, it has a “machine readable zone” containing the personal data of the passport holder that can be read by a machine or computer.

What are the other features of the Machine Readable Passport?
The new MRP is now maroon in color while the old Philippine passport (Non Machine Readable) is green in color. The MRP consists of 44 pages while the green regular passport contains 32 pages. The data page of the MRP is now fully printed while the data page of the green passport is manually scripted.

Is there a new photo requirement for the issuance of a Machine Readable Passport?
Yes, you must have your passport photo taken against a Royal Blue color background instead of a white background. This new requirement is necessary because the security feature encoded in the printed photograph of the holder is more pronounced against a royal blue background.

Must I appear personally at the Embassy?
Yes, all applicants whether for passport renewal or those applying for the first time, MUST appear personally before a Consular Officer at the Embassy to affix his/her thumb mark and sign his/her application form. His/her signature and thumbprint will be stored in the new passport database.

What are the benefits of a Machine Readable Passport?
Since a Machine Readable Passport has a machine readable zone that can be read by a machine or computer, the processing of travelers at ports of entry and exit is faster because the data in the passport can be read by the machine and stored automatically in the database of immigration offices. In the past, the information is manually encoded in the database. This means greater convenience and security for the traveler.

How can I get a Machine Readable Passport?
You may come to the Embassy (Consular Section) located at 760 Sukhumvit Road corner Soi 30/1, Bangkok, Thailand, 10110.

How much is a Machine Readable Passport?
The passport fee did not change. It still costs B2,250.00.

What will happen to my old green passport since it is not yet expired?
The green Philippine Passport is still valid until date of expiry.

Now, I am relieved...The last part answers our query.

For more information visit the official website of Philippine Embassy, Bangkok

Mommy Moments-Summer Outing

mommy moments

We haven't have a summer outing yet as a family. Supposedly our first family outing would be a family retreat with my co-teachers in Satun on April 1-3. Unfortunately, this was not push through. We supposed to stay in a hotel near a beach, experience snorkeling, diving , canoeing and kayaking. I'm not yet sure if there's elephant riding over there. Anyway, I'll just tell you our plan for summer outing. We'll visit Hat Yai Municipal Park.It is the major recreation for the people of Hat Yai and surrounding areas as well. The park is full of beautiful flowering plants, with a pavilion in the middle of the pond, vivarium, and food stalls.

Sorry guyz...the picture here shows me before I got married with my sis-in-law. I brought my hubby here before but we're not able to ride on this mini-boat because of the shallow water. Hopefully, we could visit here once again with our baby.

We would bring here in Samila beach our baby to visit the "cat" and the "mouse". This beach is the very famous beach of Songkhla City with white sand and beautiful scenery.

You can cast your vote for Kids' Choice Awards 2009!

Before my contract ends in Maha Panya Vidayalai (my previous school) on 2006, I was sent to Alor Star, Malaysia for a month to teach English to the young buddhist monks. I was bored of my daily routine-sent to school in the morning, fetched in the afternoon and sent back straight to the house of my host family. When I get back home, no one is around. All of them are busy with their rice mill business. There's no one I could talk to. I couldn't go to mall by myself because there's no public transportation available. I'm so bored...so tired of being bored!

Good thing is that my host family is so rich that they have their own home theater. I searched in Nickelodeon Channel and found one American live-action situation comedy television series that perked my interest and truly entertained me during those boring moments. It was Zoey 101. Zoey 101 is set in the fictional boarding school known as Pacific Coast Academy, often abbreviated as PCA. Jamie Lynn Spears plays Zoey Brooks, a teenager who goes to Pacific Coast Academy, a formerly all-boys boarding school that now accepts female students. Zoey has a truly zany group of friends, including Chase Matthews, who happens to be crazy about her. What I love about this show is the essence of "girl power". It's also very kid-friendly. I would surely recommend this show for my teenage sisters.

Jamie Lynn Spears as Zoey won the Kid's Choice Award 2006 and 2007 as Favorite TV Actress. This years Kids' Choice Award (KCA) will be on March 28, 2009. Let us help Zoey 101 Win! Click to vote for Zoey 101 or embed this widget below in your myspace or blog site and pick your favorite nominee.

Meet the two adorable guys that inspires me everyday!

I took this picture before hushing baby Hyzyd to sleep. Daddy Josh already fall asleep (so tired of his travel from his school) while Hyzyd was still wide awake and gave us his smile (he knew that he will be blogged...*chuckling*...) They are the guys of my life-God's blessings for me...They make me smile...and makes my day brighter each day!

I love you my dear and my little one, Hyzyd.

Missing the Philippine Products

If one of our friends is going to visit Philippines, we request them to purchase some goods from there when they'll get back here in Thailand. The most popular item is either cheese or Nestle cream. Cheese here is so expensive and we haven't seen an all-purpose cream here suitable for macaroni salad, mango/durian float or fruit salad. For my personal request, these are the goods that I want:

1. Eight O'Clock powdered juice. I specifically love the mango flavor and the combi-flavor of orange and mango. These flavors are so rare in here.

2. Cloud 9 Chocolate bar. I'm not really into chocolates but when we talk about Cloud 9, I couldn't resist its flavor. As the promo ad goes...Let Cloud 9, your ultimate feel good chocolate bar, keep your positive vibe going even when everything and everyone else around you isn't...because with Cloud 9, you can always bite into the bright side!!!

3. Efficascent Oil. I don’t know if there have been scientific research done to actually confirm the claims that it works but still I believe it does. Efficascent Oil is actually Methyl Salicylate Camphor and Menthol. It smells wonderfully minty. When I have slight tummy ache, minor headache, backache and when my feet are tired from walking, I rub it on my aching body parts and I'm relieved. The pain reliever liniment they have here makes you chill...like you're dumped in a freezer! It just make things worse...sorry...

4. Skyflakes crackers. They are crisp crackers, tasty and go well with almost anything - They are the modern alternative to bread.

When my friend's sister arrived today, I'm glad to have some products from my country and some delicacies from Davao like the popular durian candy and durian tart.

Can you see my name labeled on the items? They make sure that no one could take it away from me ...LOL!
