What's with the dining chairs?

As I prepared my grocery list, I remembered that we badly need new Dining Chairs. We temporarily used plastic chairs for dining and two of them were already broken.

I just wonder if we can live without dining chairs. I once visited a restaurant here in Hatyai where we dine sitting on a floor and only candle lights on our table. It's kinda romantic and I felt relaxed just by sitting on the floor...ok, we sit on a cushion and with our legs crossed. It's OK at first but after few minutes my legs cramped...LOL!!!

With new dining chairs, we could invite our friends to share meals with us. How comforting it is to experience once again the feeling of solidarity brought by eating together with dining chairs in which to sit on...he..he..

Hope to find affordable and durable dining chairs!

Raising my arms with confidence...

What do you think about laser hair removal?

I had a high school friend that really hates her hairy legs. She always shave it every other day and it seems that the more she shaves it, the thicker and curlier it grows. I think that laser hair removal is the best solution for her unwanted leg hair. I believe that for her the idea of never shaving again would be akin to winning the lottery !

I heard that she married an American and currently living in US. It would be easy for her to have a laser hair removal in chicago. I heard that laser hair treatment results best in those with light skin and dark hair. Good for her. She possesses these physical attributes.

Do I need leg hair removal? I think not. I don't have unwanted hair on my legs. How about my underarm? I think with laser hair removal for underarms, next time I want to wear a tank top I can raise my arms with confidence...he..he..What do you think? Should I go for underarm hair removal?

Let your kids enjoy summer camps!

Page_block_dscf4879-20071001-203245

Do you allow your children to join Summer Camps? Our father used to allow us to attend summer camps for us to have an opportunity to use our mind to learn something new and exciting with lots of fun. It's also a great way of improving our social lives. I can't forget how those brief separation from home offered us enormous opportunities to have satisfying and pleasing experience though there's a slight longing to go home . This is the reason why in the future, I would love to see Hyzyd attending summer camps like computer camp, sports camps, or theater camps. I believe that through this he will learn to be self-governing and feel the spirit of joint effort.

Here in Hatyai, English Summer Camps is a popular trend for kids to enjoy their summer. Starting February, you'll see various forms of advertisement used to announce upcoming English Summer Camps' whereabouts locally and even abroad. I think it would be cool if they could come up with an idea of using local English summer camp finder's widget like Nickelodeon widget which I install at my right sidebar to find local summer camp events without hassles. Like in US, they'll just use this widget to find local summer camp events, keep the kids busy all summer, discover cool summer fun for the family and even catching sights of local attractions!

I hope in the future, Asia could acquire a widget such as this for us to be updated of family-friendly local events and local summer camps. It is then that our kids could fully enjoy their summer!

Down-to-earth and behave seductively?

...as the Personality Test describes me and here's the rest:

Your view on yourself:

You are down-to-earth and people like you because you are so straightforward. You are an efficient problem solver because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:

You are not looking merely for a girl/boyfriend - you are looking for your life partner. Perhaps you should be more open-minded about who you spend time with. The person you are looking for might hide their charm under their exterior.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:

You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you might that person.

The seriousness of your love:

You like to flirt and behave seductively. The opposite sex finds this very attractive, and that's why you'll always have admirers hanging off your arms. But how serious are you about choosing someone to be in a relationship with?

Your views on education

You may not like to study but you have many practical ideas. You listen to your own instincts and tend to follow your heart, so you will probably end up with an unusual job.

The right job for you:

You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life.

How do you view success:

You are confident that you will be successful in your chosen career and nothing will stop you from trying.

What are you most afraid of:

You are concerned about your image and the way others see you. This means that you try very hard to be accepted by other people. It's time for you to believe in who you are, not what you wear.

Who is your true self:

You are mature, reasonable, honest and give good advice. People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve.

Well, describing me like shown above makes me more careful and makes me pray hard to be the BEST God wants me to be.

I want to thank Chris for giving me the opportunity to see more of my personality.

The rules are simple:

1. Open this website: Personality Test

2. Take the Personality Quiz. (It's very short and easy really!)

3. Copy paste the result to your blog.

4. Tag as many friends you can and link to the friend who tagged you!

I would like to pass this onto: Phebie Ann, Seiko, Willa, Bogie, Meryl, Gigi, Sis Nonz, Laine, Hazel, Kaye, and Jacris.

I love to know more about you gals!

Update of the hacked yahoo account of mine

Last Monday evening when I logged in to my yahoo account I couldn't get through because somebody already hacked into my account! The rest of the story is HERE. I remembered that on Sunday evening, I received an email from "YAHOO" as it claimed, asking for my attention to update my yahoo ID and password in the form given. Failure to comply after 24 hours may result to inactivation of my account. My bad....it's too late when I realized that it's just a phishing email! It's the culprit of the hacking of my yahoo account. It's one of the lessons I learned in a HARD way!

To make the situation worst, when I try to verify my identity by providing details to retrieve my password- the birth date, country of residence I used upon registration (almost 8 years ago) and the postal code, it failed!!! Is it possible that the hacker already changed my personal information jeopardizing my claim? I already wrote to yahoo customer care. They asked for the answer of the SECURITY QUESTION of my profile to administer the verification process. Recently, they just advised me to contact the Account Verification Department using the phone number they gave me but I couldn't get through with it so I sent another letter to them. I really hope that there's still HOPE to retrieve my account. I always access my account so that it will be LOCKED over and over again so that both me and the hacker couldn't open my account. It's hard to give up on that account. I have so many memories there worth to be cherished.

On the other side of the coin, this incident let me know that I got friends who are willing to help when I'll be stuck "in London". You see, they're calling me and my family to confirm if what's my real situation...if I'm OK...if I'm really in "London" coz all they know is that I'm here in Thailand coz they're willing to lend me money or send any financial assistance. They're relieved when they read my post here and in Facebook that I'm fine but a bit worried at the same time that I'm a victim of phishing email.

Anyway, it's not yet the end of the world...I know this will be sort out in His time.

Somebody is using my yahoo account!

I found out this evening that I couldn't open my email and my yahoo messenger! I tried to open my hubby's account and it opened. I wonder why there's a message to him from ME. I didn't send him a message today. Here's the snapshot:

The message states like this:

Am in a hurry writing you this mail, I want to seek your help on something very important, you are the only one I can reach at this point and I expect you come to my aid because something extremely dreadful is happening to me now, I need a favor from you, I had a trip to London.
Regrettably for me all my money got stolen on my way to the hotel where I lodged alongside with my bag where my money, passport, traveling documents and dairy was, and ever since then I have been without any money, I am even owing the hotel here. So I have restricted access to internet for now, please I need you to lend me about 1550 pounds so I can make preparations and go back home, I have spoken to the embassy here but they are not responding effectively to the matter. I will return the money back to you as soon as I get home; I am so confused right now.
Please I will be waiting to hear from you soon and keep me in prayer because that matters a lot. Our first priority is safety because I do not feel safe or secured
My hope on you

faith

After a while, my bro called me informing me that he received the same letter from me and I think all of the people in my email address! I tried to retrieve my password/yahoo ID but I couldn't for it's locked for security reasons. What does it mean? Yahoo provides the answer:

If you receive a message stating that your account has been locked for security reasons, this means that there have been too many attempts to sign in to your account with the incorrect password. As a security measure, your account has been locked to prevent unauthorized users from being able to access it.

If you haven't been trying to sign in to your account with the wrong password, this is not necessarily cause for concern. It could simply be the result of another user mistakenly thinking that your ID is theirs. (To learn more about account security, please visit the Yahoo! Security Center.)

The lock on your account will expire 24 hours after it was initially locked—the lockout period will not reset each time you attempt to sign in while the account is still locked. You can try to sign in again after the lock has expired. We are unable to provide you with the exact time that your account was locked or when it will be unlocked.

If you are still unable to sign in with your new password, please refer to our password problems help page for common reasons why you may be getting an "Invalid Password" error.

I hope and pray that this will be resolved ASAP! Do you experience the same predicament? What did you do?

An Open Letter from a Papa's Girl

Happy Father's Day to you, Papa Ben!

Do you know how much I thank God for having the BEST father in the whole wide world? Why? CLICK HERE to know how I love and appreciate your love for me.

I wanna take this opportunity to thank you Papa for guiding me and instilling wisdom in me my entire life. I hope one day that like you when my kids need something, I'm there for them as you have been for me. I hope that when my kids have questions, that I'm there for them as you have been for me. I hope that when they are going through good times or bad that I'm there for them, just as you have always been there for me.

I wanna let you know that I have been VERY blessed by being one of your children! Furthermore, I want to thank for your undivided attention for me by treating me as your only child when I'm talking, even though you have 14 children. You're the one who holds me securely by your arm when I take my faltering first steps. You always make sure that I abide by what is being said to me at the cost of your appearing strict. You're there at my bedside caressing my hair strands when I'm not feeling that well only to assure me that everything will be o.k. I want to acknowledge your unconditional love and protection for me and my siblings which we sometimes taken for granted not just on Father's Day but everyday. Your blessed marriage with Mama inspires us to be the best in our marriage life. Your commitment and undying devotion to God encourages us to continue serving God through thick and thin. No matter how old I am, I'm always be your little girl. I love you papa. I always pray for you.

I'm absent today!

I didn't expect that I couldn't go to school today. After what happened to Hyzyd, I didn't have much sleep which left me dizzy, having bad headache, I felt like having motion sickness and my tummy is growling and always demands attention that I went to the toilet several times today. It left me no choice but to call our English Coordinator to break out my plight-I can't make it to school today, I'm sick! It's also hard to leave my baby when he's not feeling well, too! How I wish I could be a WAHM or a SAHM in times like this....

With all the things that happened today, I'm grateful to God that He touched and healed both of us . After I slept about two hours this morning with the baby (I didn't send him to grandma who babysits him coz I wanna take care of him by myself), I felt alive, alert, awake and enthusiastic again as well as my lil social butterfly-Hyzyd.

Friends are good for us...treasure them!

I once read in a magazine that in recent years, researchers have been busy proving scientifically what we’ve all known – that friends are good for us. A Maryland study quoted in the August 2007 issue of the popular magazine Better Homes and Gardens found that people with ten or more friends suffered half the disabilities or health problems experienced by those with only two friends. Clearly, the more the merrier!

Another study referred to in the same article addressed frequency of interactions with friends. Women who saw their friends at least five times monthly had longer life expectancies over this follow up study period of nine years than those women who saw their friends less often. Other studies in recent years have added to the certainty that vibrant, healthy friendships are associated with personal health- physical, mental, and emotional.

I thank God for my friends HERE and THERE! We laugh together, cry together and love each other dearly. Because of healthy friendships i have with them, I could say it contibuted to my well-being- physically healthy, mentally healthy and emotionally healthy.

I wanna thank God too for my friends here in blogosphere, I met friends who bring new ideas, and interests for me to try, and even cheer me on as I share my challenges in life as if they're waiting for me at the finish line with a cool drink and a pat on the back.I really treasured my friends and I'm glad that somebody did treasure my friendship, too. In fact, she gave me this Treasured Friends Forever Award. Thank you Mommy Seiko, Tetcha and Mommy Jacris for this wonderful award.

I wanna pass on this award to my friends here in blogosphere. Hope they'll treasure my friendship as much as I do.

Life with my learners

my first experience of handling 4 years old last summer ..can you identify the teacher?...he..he..he...

It's been three weeks and 3 days to be exact when I started to teach Anuban 1 (3 years old) and Anuban 2 (4 years old). Here are some unforgettable moments I have with them:

1. "Parroting". My learners mimic every words that I say. So, I have to make hand signal for them to determine when are they going to close their mouth and when are they going to follow after me.

2. The first time I let them identify letters (for Anuban 2), I'm confused of what are they mumbling! It's only letter a and I wonder why I heard three-syllable words! It took me quite some time for me to understand that when they identify the letter, they name a word that starts with "that" letter and translate it to Thai! When I let them identify "a", they'll say "a", ant, m00t (Thai of ant). They keep on insisting this pattern even how hard I tried to make it easy for them to just IDENTIFY "a".

3. My first meething with my Anuban 1 made me frustrated because I'm like talking to stones. They will not response to me no matter how hard I coaxed them to follow after what I'm doing or saying. Thanks God for the wisdom. The star stickers did the trick. They're all babbling learners!..he..he..

I want to share some practical teaching tips that I've learned in teaching English as a second language to Thai learners:

1. Establish a signal to be used to get students' attention. For example: clap your hands twice, blowing of whisle or tapping the table thrice.

2. Plan to change activities approximately every 5-7 minutes as young learners have short attention spans. I see to it that I plan more than enough activities so that it is possible to quickly change to another activity without disrupting the class. I also change activities before student lose interests and become bored. The result, the learners will look forward to do the activity in future lessons.

3. Develop a class routine and follow it in each lesson. learners will develop a sense of security which will lead to greater participation. I also develop classroom commands that the students will follow and understand everytime I use them...everytime they'll hear them like sit down, stand up, point, open your book and many more. A certain chant is also developed to master basic classroom commands.

So far, my life with my learners is enjoyable though it's challenging but it makes me feel young always to be surrounded with children...*grin*...

Wanna join the Slogan Contest for bloggers?

Aside from the blog contest I recently joined, I also participate in a slogan contest hosted by the two gorgeous sisters, Rosilie of Rosilie: My Blog and DJ Tammy of Anything Under the Sun. It just started last May 20 and will end on June 20, 2009. All you need to do is you must have a unique slogan about blog or blogging. You could enhance it through any decent and unique graphics. Oh my, I think I don't have this skill but anyway here's my 2nd entry:

I heard about blogging about three years ago but just joined the "venture" about 5 months ago. Knowing about it through my friends truly interests me but being a part of the blogging world is different. I can say, it changed me-my point of view in some areas of politics, lifestyles and cultures, it makes me more open-minded to the new trend of this hi-tech generation, boosts my self-confidence in writing and expressing myself and makes me more cautious and wiser in managing my time for Him, for my family, my teaching career and squeezing blogging into my hectic schedules...he..he..It's not easy but I enjoy every minute I spend on expressing myself and spreading the goodness of our Creator. On the other side of the coin, there can also be a negative change- being addicted to blogging!...LOL! It almost caught me last summer but thanks goodness that it was easily resolved before our class starts last May.

According to the hosts, the winning entries shall be used as blog shirt prints. Any sale made from these prints will entitle the winning entrant a 10% commission according to the Philippine Peso and US Dollar equivalents. This commission shall be paid through Paypal account of the winning entrant. Isn't this great?

If you have any cool ideas about what is blogging for you and could be used as a unique slogan, why not join the SLOGAN CONTEST and let everybody be benefited of your ideas. Head on to Anthing Under the Sun for more clarification of the Contest Mechanics.

The following are hosts of the contest:

Sister Rosilie's blogs:
Rosilie: My Blog
A Closet of Limitless for Limitless Adventure, Limitless Possibilities
Teacher Techie Says

Sister Tammy's blogs:

Wanna win 115K EC's, jewelries,cash and more?

Wonderful Things In Life

In my two months of being introduced to blogosphere, I was tempted to join the first contest I found hosted by Mom Gen while bloghopping. I haven't had any idea of what are ECs yet. So I asked the host and she's so gracious enough to explain to me what are ECs and its significance. I won the consolation prize and it perked my interest to join other contests. The contests hosted by Mom Gen of Wonderful Things in My Life hold special place in my heart. That's why I couldn't resist joining once more another blog contest of Mom Gen. I believe that this contest is very special to her because it celebrates her special events in her wonderful life- 4th Wedding Anniversary, her birthday and blogversary of her two blogs! In spite of the fact that she's having hectic schedules as she's helping harvesting their blueberry crop, she didn't miss this opportunity to celebrate these special days with us. Thank you so much, Mom Gen. Please accept my greetings: Happy Wedding Anniversary! May you enjoy a blissful life of marriage. Happy Birthday to you! It's my prayer that God will grant the desires of your heart and Happy Blogversary! May you have fruitful blogging years to come.

The contest will end on June 26 so we still have ample time to participate and if you happen to know this contest first through this blog and decided to join, would you please tell her?...*wink*...This will help me earn more points...LOL! Though the winners will be picked through Random.org, I'm still hoping to earn higher points to covet the special prizes for the highest pointers...just a guess...he...he...because there are options to earn points.

Who can join? Anyone could join as long that your blog is at least a month old and have more than 10 post already. For more clarification of the rules and mechanics of the contest, head on to the site of Wonderful Things in My Life or just simply click the contest banner.

Peek the following alluring prizes. Be sure to have a paypal account and Entrecard account to enjoy these prizes. I'm hoping, I'll win again this time! I can't wait for the announcement of winners on June 30!

Awards: Do they really mean anything to you?

Awards?...Tags?...I love them! They signify that I'm accepted, appreciated and remembered. That's why no matter how busy I am, I take time posting awards or tags shared to me so that the giver will know that I do care for their time and effort in remembering me. I just do what I want others will do to me. It's a golden rule, right? In the blogosphere, I think it is ethical to response to your readers' comments ( it takes time to comment), appreciate awards given to you and enjoy tags. If you haven't have time to post them, just inform the "giver" or "tagger" that you appreciate them rather than keeping silent as if you didn't know .he..he.. So, if you think I had forgotten to post your awards and tags and reply to your queries and comments, just POKE me and I'll follow you. I just have a hectic schedule these days.:O))

Wanna wake up looking younger?

It's almost a month now that I found out about Scrubs Magazine and take time reading some healthful and beauty tips before going to bed. By the way, Scrubs Magazine is an online magazine for nurses as a guide to good living but I find it very reader-friendly for it caters both nurses and ordinary people. It's inspiring, uplifting, and timely yet original . You'll find topics or tips about de-stressing mind, health tips, fashion tips, beauty tips and secrets, work behavior, money matters, news and entertainment and even tackles about love issues!

One interesting topic that I wanna share with you is about Wake Up Looking Younger by Anita Bruzzese. Who doesn't want to wake up in the morning feeling younger, beautiful and refreshed? One tip that I want to apply starting tonight is to sleep on my back. You see, I used to fall face down on the mattress after dealing with my learners, co-teachers and needy baby all day. Sleeping on one side too much—or on your stomach—can lead to more wrinkles (this explains why I started to have wrinkles...he..he..). I now know that to avoid morning eye puffiness when fluid collects in that area, I'll either raise the head of my bed several inches or I'll sleep on a couple of pillows.

I'm glad for this helpful tips she shared and I'm sure I can wake up tomorrow looking refreshed and, yes, younger!

"You smell expensive!"

This morning my co-teacher commented that she likes my smell. She asked me what perfume am I wearing because she wanted to buy one for herself! Oh no, she'll smell like me....LOL!...Anyway, I told her that I'm using Victoria Secret's Dream Angels Desire given by my friend. She exclaimed "You smell expensive!"....LOL! She continued asking me on where to buy it. I told her that I'm not sure of that new perfume store where my friend bought it. I'll just ask her later.

Victoria Secret's perfume is very popular for many women but for me the scent matters most rather than the brand. If I'll buy a perfume, I'll choose soft floral scent. There are few perfumes that makes me physically ill. The one that my friend gave to me has a great scent. It smells like a bit lavender. It's great for anytime- from a day of errands to a night out!

I happen to take a quiz online about "What Perfume Are You?" at becomegorgeous.com and the result is:

Beyond Paradise Perfume by Estee Lauder. You're confident, sexy, playful... And anything else you want to be. You are the brightest star in many people's lives. You see life as an adventure - and expect the unexpected. Power scents: Juniper berry, violet, and mandarin.

How about you? What perfume are you?
